Computational Science and the Liberal Arts - CompLA Grant

The classroom can be a crucible for a liberal arts education. The NICS CompLA Program  provides small grants, for up to $2500 to encourage and enable classroom work that supports the liberal arts ethos through an explicit integration of computational ideas in settings which are not a priori "computational". Examples include (but are not limited to) offsetting the cost of bringing literature (e.g., novels, essays) into the curriculum of mathematics and computer science courses, or conversely, technical materials into traditionally non-technical courses, or honoraria for speakers to bring a different (and necessarily interdisciplinary) view into a classroom.
