With equipment funding from the Institute, Professor Karol Kawaika's Digital Drawing class ,Winter14, explored the connection and potential of the hand and digital devices used together to create original drawings. They explored the implications, opportunities and technical issues of using the computer as a drawing tool, and combining computer-generated drawings with those done by hand.
Layering, collaging, and cutting and pasting by hand and computer were explored. Students learned the software and then used printed, laser cut, and hand-generated drawings to complete a series of drawing objects culminating in a final, independent project.
