Darwin's Extra Sense
Charles Darwin wrote that he wished he had worked harder at mathematics, so as to possess the "extra sense" that he felt mathematicians can bring to understanding the world. The new 45 minute documentary, “Darwin's Extra Sense”, explores how twenty-first century mathematics is bringing an extra sense to the study of the life sciences.
The Neukom Institute for Computational Science has paired with the Dartmouth Math Department to create "Math-O-Vision", a movie contest inviting 13 – 17 year old High School students to open up their "math eyes" and reveal the world that they see creatively.
